01 Jul The Artful Roger
The Wetherspoon’s Craft Cider Festival is in full swing and our Artful Roger is going down a treat! So we would like to introduce you to the man behind the cider…
Hunt’s Cider has always been a family business, rooted deeply in the South Devon countryside, just outside of Torbay. Roger Hunt (‘The Artful Roger’) is the 7th Generation of his family to make cider there.
Roger’s passion for Broadleigh Farm has seen it continue to grow under his stewardship since he took over its management from his father, William. He has overseen the planting of new orchard’s, the construction of a new cider house and passed on the cider making wisdom to his own children that had been passed to him by his Father.
As the next generation of the Hunt family press forward with the growth and development of the cider business, Roger continues to manage the agricultural side of Broadleigh Farm. His herd of suckler cattle, and flock of sheep, being ideally suited to the lush pastures of South Devon.
Roger is never too far from the Cider Cellar, keeping a watchful eye over all that happens, and is always available for tastings should the need arrive!
